Entertainment Partner Ramela Ohanian received the “Lawyers on the Fast Track” award as part of the Recorder’s 2025 California Legal Awards program. The award recognizes attorneys under 40 who will serve as the next generation of legal leaders.

Ohanian was highlighted for representing some of the entertainment industry’s most prominent content producers—like Amazon MGM Studios, Meta, Nickelodeon studios, Wondery and others—on transactional entertainment matters. She recently supported Meta in connection with its Super Bowl commercial for its smart glasses, Ray-Ban Meta glasses, overseeing the firm’s negotiations with the commercial’s stars Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth and Kris Jenner. She advised Amazon MGM Studios with their trailblazing, multi-year film partnership deal with Scott Stuber, the former Head of Film at Netflix. In addition to sponsorships, commercials and short-form content, she advises clients on transactions related to scripted and unscripted television, podcasts, feature films and more.

“There is innate excitement in scrolling through a list of shows and seeing a series that you worked on,” Ohanian said. “Or, in going to the theaters to watch a film that you served as production counsel for, or watching the premiere of a show based on a podcast that you handled the rights deal for. The idea that you can be a small part of bringing a project to life—to audience’s living rooms, the big screen or their night out—it’s an absolute pleasure as an entertainment attorney.”

Ohanian is a mentor to young legal talent—both at Sheppard Mullin and through her community involvement. She mentors law students at her alma mater, Loyola Law School, and is connected with Loyola’s Entertainment & Media Law Institute. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Armenian Women’s Bar Association, a non-profit organization that seeks to create an inclusive community dedicated to inspire, empower and support Armenian women professionals in the legal industry.
