Two Life Sciences Attorneys Shortlisted for Individual Awards at the 2025 LMG Life Sciences Americas Awards
Sheppard Mullin is pleased to announce that Lorna Tanner, co-leader of the firm's Life Sciences team and Alexandra Kitson, special counsel, have been shortlisted as finalists for individual awards by LMG Life Sciences.
Lorna Tanner is shortlisted as a finalist for Patent Strategy Attorney of the Year (California). This is Tanner's second appearance on this shortlist, and she previously won Patent Strategy Attorney of the Year in 2021. Tanner focuses on global intellectual property (IP) protection strategy and technology transfer issues, including patent procurement and enforcement, IP valuation and monetization, licensing, and technology transfer. She has worked on patent portfolios relating to 15 approved drugs and biologics. Her practice is highly focused on drug candidates and approved therapeutics and counseling clients on IP issues relating to product launch, including patent term extensions, Orange Book listings, and pre- and post-grant challenges.
Kitson is a finalist for the U.S. Rising Stars in the Regulatory category. She focuses her practice on FDA regulatory matters, counseling clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries with respect to a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters. She works with clients on state licensure issues, advertising and promotion, transparency reporting, state and federal fraud and abuse issues, pharmaceutical sampling programs, compliance issues at the state level, and regulatory due diligence in transactions.
The annual awards recognize top life sciences practitioners and law firms from the United States and Canada across a range of key practice areas—regulatory, intellectual property, financial and corporate, and non-IP litigation and enforcement—and jurisdictions. Nominees are selected through a rigorous research process and interviews with leading lawyers from the field.
Winners will be announced at a LMG Life Sciences 13th annual awards ceremony in New York City on September 4, 2025.
