Daniel Cho is special counsel in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm's San Diego (Del Mar) office.

Areas of Practice

Daniel is a patent attorney and focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of patents. Daniel has experience advising clients in a variety of technical areas, including computer hardware and software, augmented reality, graphical user interfaces, imaging technology, entertainment systems, social media, consumer electronic devices, networking devices, medical devices, biosensing technology, emergency systems, drone technology, autonomous vehicles, quantum computing, semiconductor devices, semiconductor fabrication, and subsurface exploration and development.

Prior to joining the firm, Daniel practiced in the intellectual property group of a large law firm in Los Angeles, California, where he was responsible for a wide range of intellectual property matters, including patent portfolio management, patent and software licensing, transactional due diligence, and patent litigation.

Prior to entering law school, Daniel worked as a research assistant at the Center for Nanoscale Chemical-Electrical-Mechanical Manufacturing Systems, where he fabricated and tested microplasma discharge devices. Daniel also worked as a research assistant at the Virginia Tech’s Microelectromechanical Systems Laboratory, where he designed, fabricated, and tested micro-preconcentrators for environmental and healthcare applications.
