Shane Trawick is a partner in the Real Estate, Energy, Land Use & Environmental Practice Group in the firm's Dallas office.

Areas of Practice

Shane’s practice focuses on complex real estate transactions, including construction/term financings, acquisitions and dispositions in the United States. He has worked on behalf of borrowers, purchasers and sellers of real estate assets including multifamily apartments, single-family residential developments, mixed-use projects, office complexes, hotels and shopping centers. Shane has significant experience with borrower-side lending and has represented borrowers in connection with more than 75 construction and term loans with aggregate loan amounts in excess of $6.5 billion. Shane also has closed real estate acquisitions and dispositions in excess of $13 billion (including a $3.6 billion sale of 24 international data centers and a $4.4 billion multifamily portfolio acquisition). He frequently represents clients in connection with multistate portfolio transactions, loan assumptions, loan modifications and in connection with the real estate aspects of M&A transactions in the energy industry.

  • Represented a national developer in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a mixed-use development, consisting of 332 multifamily units and approximately 6,333 square feet of retail space, in Kirkland, Washington.
  • Represented a national developer in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a multifamily development, consisting of 270 multifamily units, in Marshfield, Massachusetts.
  • Represented a national developer in connection with a term loan to refinance a 292-unit multifamily complex with 9,910 square feet of ground floor retail space in Orlando, Florida.
  • Represented a national developer in connection with a term loan to finance the development and construction of a mixed-use development, consisting of 320 multifamily units and approximately 18,734 square feet of retail space, in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Represented a national developer in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a single-family development, consisting of 181 homes in Hoschton, Georgia.
  • Represented a national developer, as borrower, in connection with term loan to refinance a 205-unit multifamily complex with approximately 13,300 square feet of retail space located in Berkeley, California.

  • Represented a national developer in connection with a loan to finance the development and construction of a mixed-use property consisting of 396 multi-family units and approximately 5,000 square feet of ground floor retail in Nashville, Tennessee.
  • Represented a national developer in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a mixed-use development, consisting of a 304-unit, 8-story midrise community including 8,000 SF of ground floor retail and structured parking in Tampa, Florida. 
  • Represented a national developer in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a 319-unit multifamily project located in Revere, Massachusetts.
  • Represented a national developer, as borrower, in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a 381-unit multifamily project located in McKinney, Texas.
  • Represented a national developer, as borrower, in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a 325-unit multifamily project located in Washington, D.C.
  • Represented a national developer, as borrower, in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a mixed-use project with 312 multifamily units and approximately 4,145 sq. ft. of retail space, located in Beaverton, Oregon.
  • Represented a national developer, as borrower, in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a mixed-use project with 280 multifamily units and approximately 22,000 sq. ft. of retail space, located in Falls Church, Virginia.

  • Represented a private credit lender in structuring and negotiating a $105 million senior secured term loan and revolving credit facility provided to an owner of upstream oil and gas assets located in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico.
  • Represented a national developer in its acquisition of a tenancy-in-common interest in a 512-unit multifamily community commonly known as the "Still Waters Apartments" located in Austin, Texas, its assumption of a mortgage loan in connection with the acquisition, and the release of the Seller as a guarantor under the loan.
  • Represented a national developer in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a 335-unit multifamily project located in Houston, Texas.
  • Represented a national developer in connection with the disposition of a 270-unit multifamily community located in San Antonio, Texas.
  • Represented a national developer in connection with a construction loan to finance the development and construction of a 323-unit multifamily project located in Denver, Colorado. 
  • Represented a national developer in connection with the refinancing of a term loan for a 304-unit multifamily project located in Frisco, Texas.
  • Represented a real estate private equity company in connection with a construction loan to finance the acquisition and development of a 122-key hotel in Concord, North Carolina.
  • Represented a real estate private equity company in connection with a construction loan to finance the acquisition and development of a 122-key hotel in Smyrna, Tennessee.
  • Represented a North American refiner of complex crudes and producer of high-value petrochemicals in connection with a Rule 144A offering of $650 million aggregate principal amount of 6.375% Senior Secured Notes due 2026.
  • Represented a real estate private equity company in connection with the formation of a joint venture to acquire an approximately 25-acre site in Hialeah Gardens, Miami-Dade County, Florida, to be developed into a project containing four Class A industrial buildings and the financing by the joint venture of the acquisition.
