Student loan debt statistics are staggering—and not surprisingly, the portion of those that have been in forbearance or gone into default has only skyrocketed along with the economic crisis surrounding COVID-19. This CLE will focus on the latest trends and forecasts for litigation facing lenders with student loan portfolios. With growing litigation, we will discuss the issues that have begun emerging, and the lessons to be learned from comparative trends, including from mortgage backed securities litigation and consumer protection litigation.
