Stinson is a Law Firm Antiracism Alliance Partner

Stinson LLP stands with our colleagues of color in the fight for racial justice. Today we extend this commitment by joining more than 125 U.S. law firms in the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (LFAA), a coalition of firms and partner organizations uniting to identify and dismantle systemic racism in the legal profession and in law and government institutions.

As noted in The American Lawyer, as an LFAA firm, Stinson will continue to leverage resources to amplify voices of individuals and communities oppressed by racism, to use the law as a vehicle for change, and to promote racial equity in the law.

"We acknowledge that racism, especially anti-Black racism, exists as a corrosive and oppressive influence in our country. We will work to change that. We are committed to listen, examine and eliminate racial inequality within our firm and to oppose it elsewhere. We will also continue to use our robust pro bono service commitment to support justice for individuals and organizations," said Mark Hinderks, Stinson's managing partner.

Through large-scale pro bono efforts, in collaboration with participating firms, LFAA will facilitate large-scale pro bono projects that address systemic racism that are both immediate and long-term in scope, with priority areas determined by community organizers, policy experts and legal aid partners. Participation in the LFAA builds on Stinson's priorities to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and opportunity, and supports the firm's pledge to continue the conversation of racial injustice and violence against people of color.

As a firm built on fairness and the rule of law, we see the LFAA as yet another way to leverage our platform and our voices to promote racial inclusion, equity and justice," said Stinson's Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Ann Jenrette-Thomas.

In addition to joining the LFAA, Stinson recently signed the Minnesota Business Partnership statement calling for Minnesota police reform at the special session of the Minnesota Legislature.
