Frantze Honored with ICON Award from Missouri Lawyers Media
Stinson LLP Partner Dave Frantze has been honored with the Missouri Lawyers Media ICON Award. This award recognizes attorneys with exemplary careers who have demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the Missouri legal community.
Throughout his more than 40 years at the firm, Frantze has represented developers, property owners, tenants and end-user companies in large, complex real estate development projects that involve development incentives such as tax increment financing and tax abatement both in the Midwest and nationwide. He has helped drive major Kansas City developments such as the T-Mobile Center, the Power & Light District, the lease negotiation for CPKC Stadium, a $400 million, 1.5 million square foot fulfillment center for Urban Outfitters, a 450,000-square-foot campus project for Burns & McDonnell, and the $250 million Union Station restoration, which stands as the largest project of its kind in the greater Kansas City area.
Frantze finds joy in sharing his achievements with his children. “I go around the city pointing out buildings and telling my kids I was involved in getting them built,” Frantze said. “And I point to the National Women’s Soccer League Stadium and Union Station and explain they are standing because of some work I did, and it’s pretty amazing to be able to talk about that.”
Beyond his practice, Frantze has made a significant impact on the community through leadership roles in various Kansas City organizations. Dave currently serves as co-chair of KC Rising, and on the board of directors for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City. Additionally, he is actively involved with KC BizPAC, the local council of Scouting America, BioNexus KC and the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, among other notable organizations.
Frantze has been honored with multiple awards and recognitions throughout his career, including his induction into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame by Midwest Real Estate News in 2011. He was selected as a "Baron of the Boardroom" by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association in 2019, and was named a Real Estate Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers for 2024, his third time receiving this recognition.
