Stinson Advises BioMADE in Development of Flagship Plant in Minnesota

Stinson LLP represented BioMADE in the development of its recently announced flagship plant in Maple Grove, Minnesota, the first announced site in its strategic national expansion.

The $132 million manufacturing campus marks a major milestone for BioMADE, a public-private partnership committed to building a bioindustrial manufacturing industry in the United States. The Maple Grove site will serve as BioMADE’s flagship facility and is expected to open in 2027.

The demonstration-scale plant will allow companies to test and scale up production processes that transform crops into bio-based alternatives for industrial chemicals typically derived from petroleum. As BioMADE continues to build a national network of biomanufacturing sites, the Maple Grove facility will serve as a cornerstone, creating opportunities for collaboration, advancing biotechnology and fostering long-term economic growth.

The Stinson team, led by Partners Andy Davis and Alan Van Dellen, has provided counsel across multiple aspects of the project, including regulatory, real estate and government procurement matters.
