Stinson Recognized by NLADA with 2024 Beacon of Justice Award
Stinson LLP is recognized by the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) with a 2024 Beacon of Justice Award. The award honors the firm's pro bono efforts to address issues related to civil and human rights. Stinson is one of 40 firms to be recognized.
"Recognizing the outstanding efforts of these law firms is a true joy for us. Collectively, they have been champions for civil and human rights on a global scale," NLADA President and CEO April Frazier Camara said in a press release. The NLADA is America's oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel.
Stinson's pro bono work championed a variety of issues in 2023, including immigration and international human rights, domestic civil rights, and post-conviction and expungement matters. Stinson attorneys donated nearly 22,000 hours to pro bono legal services in 2023, surpassing the firm's annual pledge of donating 3% of total billable hours to pro bono legal services. The firm values the importance of human rights both in the United States and around the world and recognizes that human rights are afforded to all individuals based on the fundamentals of their human existence.
Stinson's pro bono practice is spearheaded by the firm's pro bono committee and implemented by Pro Bono Counsel Katie Cronin, along with Pro Bono Attorney Tim Sanders Szabo and Pro Bono Specialist David Gottfried.
The firm will be honored with a 2024 Beacon of Justice Award at the NLADA Exemplar Awards Gala June 6, 2024.
