URBN Opens $60 Million Fulfillment Center in Missouri, Stinson Attorneys Serve as Legal Counsel
Stinson LLP successfully represented Urban Outfitters, Inc. (URBN) in establishing a new fulfillment center for the company's women's clothing rental brand, Nuuly, in Raymore, Missouri.
The $60 million, 600,000-square-foot development is the company's second fulfillment center in the Kansas City metropolitan area. It is expected to create 750 jobs over the next five years and will provide the company with capacity to fully optimize its laundering and clothing alteration capabilities across the country.
"URBN had ambitious goals for this project and we're proud to have played a part in bringing them to fruition. We focused on finding creative avenues that met URBN's objectives and benefited the Kansas City area community and local economy," Stinson Partner David Frantze said. "Navigating and aligning the needs of our client with the goals of the State of Missouri and the City of Raymore was a collaborative project that demonstrates the power of strong partnerships in achieving significant wins. We're thrilled with the outcome and the potential it holds for everyone involved."
The firm worked with local and state entities to negotiate incentives, including tax abatement, new job creation incentives and job training assistance, in connection with the establishment of the fulfillment center, and also assisted in the negotiation of construction contracts for the facility.
Stinson also represented URBN in similar matters for the company's first fulfillment center in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Through URBN's two facilities, the company plans to bring up to 3,000 jobs to the Kansas City area by 2030.
Stinson attorneys involved in this matter include Frantze, Christopher Frantze and Brian Sobczyk.
