Overview
Adrianna is experienced in working with clients on a variety of intellectual property matters, including brand protection, software copyright ownership, and intellectual property infringement disputes. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants in trademark, trade secret, copyright, patent and false advertising cases in federal courts nationwide for clients across multiple industries, including software development, fashion, construction, banking, agriculture, food products, outdoor recreational products, and food preparation devices.
Adrianna works with companies of all sizes through various stages of the litigation process, including appeals. She also works with clients outside of litigation to assist with protecting their intellectual property rights.
Adrianna’s broad experience informs her ability to spot issues and bring creative solutions to the table for a wide range of companies: agribusiness, construction, food and beverage, software, retail, financial institutions, bioenergy, life sciences, internet, marketing and media.
A former appellate clerk, Adrianna brings a unique perspective to her cases that incorporates her insight into judicial decision-making and enhances her ability to advocate effectively and persuasively on behalf of her clients.
Combining her strong advocacy skills with her zealous representation, Adrianna helps clients protect and defeat their brands through trademark enforcement, including in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (TTAB). Adrianna also has experience drafting articles of organization, independent contractor agreements and copyright and trademark assignment agreements.
Experience
Defeated a breach of contract action at the motion to dismiss stage and successfully recovered attorneys’ fees for her client.
Defended claims of patent infringement in three utility patent disputes in the Eastern District of Missouri with successful reversal of preliminary injunction by the Federal Circuit alongside PTAB final decisions in IPRs finding all challenged claims of all three patents invalid.
First chair defense of food distribution company in trademark cancellation proceeding before the TTAB.
Obtained consent injunction for copyright infringement relating to exercise training materials.
Second chair defense of manufacturing client in software and trade secret dispute.
Negotiated favorable settlement with a Fortune 100 shoe company regarding allegations of trade dress and trademark infringement.
Second chair defending construction defect claims through the Arizona Purchaser Dwelling Act pre-litigation process and arbitration, resulting in a favorable settlement that limited the client's liability.
Successfully argued against a motion to dismiss in the Arizona District Court as pro-bono counsel in a civil rights case.
Adrianna has drafted copyright and trademark assignment agreements to protect her clients’ intellectual property.
