Overview

Anna focuses her practice on solving complex business challenges for her clients, primarily in the real estate, transportation, manufacturing, and technology and communications industries. Anna litigates high-stakes matters involving breach of contract, business torts, and negligence-based claims.

As a skilled writer, Anna takes the lead in drafting complicated motions for use in federal and state courts. She has extensive experience drafting dispositive and discovery-related motions, as well as those seeking and opposing injunctive relief.  Anna has also briefed matters at the appellate level, including before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Anna’s experience extends to all facets of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial representation. She has managed large-scale discovery efforts and led factual investigations to aid in developing effective defenses on behalf of her clients. Anna is a diligent researcher, ensuring her clients receive the benefits of creative solutions developed through in-depth legal research.

Anna earned her J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Law School, where she was actively involved in the law school community. During her time in law school, Anna was a member of the school’s National Moot Court team and participated in competitions involving schools across the region, strengthening her advocacy skills for her professional trial career. Prior to joining Stinson, Anna clerked with the United States District Attorney’s Office for the District of Kansas.

Experience

Prosecuted breach of contract and related claims on behalf of real estate developer, obtaining favorable summary judgment ruling and significant award of attorneys’ fees and costs incurred in district court litigation, and successfully defending district court ruling on appeal to the Fourth Circuit.

Obtained injunctive relief on behalf of real estate developer in dispute involving data center development in Northern Virginia.

Successfully defended against motion seeking to enjoin federal grants totaling nearly $70 million awarded to client in telecommunications industry.

Assisted in representing client in transportation industry against employment-related claims, obtaining complete defense verdict following jury trial.

Assisted in representing manufacturer of heavy equipment against negligence and product liability claims resulting from catastrophic injury, obtaining complete defense verdict following jury trial.
