Clients turn to Dominic when they want an experienced labor and employment strategist with a long track record of success.

Overview

For more than 25 years Dominic has provided clients with practical and goal-oriented labor and employment advice. Dominic helps clients balance working cooperatively and respectfully with unions with their need to maintain operational flexibility and achievement of business goals. For union-free clients, Dominic helps them maintain their direct relationships with employees by focusing on positive employee relations through enhanced communication, participation and recognition. He also helps clients assess their vulnerability to union organizing efforts.

Because labor contract negotiations are more of an art than a science, nothing can take the place of experience at the table. During Dominic's career, he has successfully negotiated hundreds of collective bargaining agreements, and has experience dealing with nearly every type of issue that may arise during labor contract negotiations. Dominic also has a two decade long track record of success in labor arbitrations and employment litigation. His vast experience affords advantages at every stage of the arbitral and litigation process.

Dominic brings a practical, relatable approach to his practice. His long standing clients have repeatedly praised his ability to communicate effectively in the board room as well as at the bargaining table.

Experience

Dominic has represented regional, national and international businesses in NLRB trials, labor arbitrations and labor negotiations. He counsels clients on employment law, and maintains an active litigation practice in state and federal courts and before a range of regulatory agencies.

A strong proponent of maintaining positive workforce relations, Dominic spends considerable time counseling non-union employers how to maintain their non-union status, believing that the easiest labor disputes to solve are those that don’t arise.

In his pro bono practice, Dominic devotes significant time to representing children through the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota, where he is a member of the board of directors. The center provides free legal services for youth in foster care.
