Overview
Ian's practice encompasses a wide variety of corporate finance services relevant both to publicly-traded and closely-held companies across numerous industries, including data technology, food ingredients, consumer products, public utilities, waste management, and chemicals. Ian advises clients on sophisticated buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, and general corporate matters, providing comprehensive but understandable legal counsel at every stage of the process.
He has extensive experience in the nuts and bolts of complex deals, including pre-transaction legal and regulatory research, comprehensive due diligence review, and nuanced contract drafting. Ian also has experience counseling clients whose global operations implicate international data privacy laws, guiding family businesses through myriad commercial matters, and helping charitable organizations navigate day-to-day legal tasks and nonprofit M&A.
Ian is trilingual in English, Portuguese and Spanish, offering further capabilities for his clients whose work spans the globe.
Prior to joining Stinson, Ian was a legal intern with the Missouri State Public Defenders in St. Louis City and with the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. These experiences profoundly shaped his view of the law as more than a profession and allow him to bring litigation-based insights to his transactional practice.
