Jeremy is a proven advocate with broad experience in litigation and investigations.

Overview

Jeremy represents clients in complex class actions, commercial disputes, securities and insurance litigation and internal compliance investigations. He has a knack for early mastery of complex factual and legal problems that, together with his experience dealing with government regulators, helps clients stay ahead of the risks on the horizon.

He defends clients in state- and nationwide class actions, including Rule 23 appeals of class certification decisions. With regard to government solutions, he has handled initiative petition and election law litigation, including pre- and post-election challenges in Missouri. For clients in need of FCPA and anti-corruption services, Jeremy has investigated employment, compliance and fraud issues in the U.S., sub-Saharan Africa and Australia. He has negotiated directly with state and national securities regulators to solve client problems.

Jeremy also has a background in criminal defense and investigations, having completed internships with the New York Capital Defender Office, the Equal Justice Initiative, and the NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund. In 2009, the law review article he wrote was cited by U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens in a published opinion. He also served as an intern in the Environment & Natural Resources Division of the Department of Justice, Office of the Assistant Attorney General. This background helps him assess his clients’ environmental risks in litigation. Prior to law school, he was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship to spend a year in South Africa studying the transition to the new constitution.

He is the co-chair of the firm's Investment Management Practice Group and the firm's internal Appellate Practice Group.
