Jessica provides strategic regulatory counseling to health care industry clients, helping them to establish a culture of ethics and integrity and to earn the trust of their consumers.
Overview
Jessica's practice encompasses the full range of health care law, advising clients across the health care industry on corporate transactional and regulatory compliance matters.
She has in-depth knowledge and experience with Stark law, state and federal anti-kickback laws, individual and facility licensing requirements, state and federal privacy and security laws, digital and tele- health initiatives and health care reimbursement.
Having in-house industry experience, Jessica has practical knowledge of matters involving corporate governance, tax exempt status, data privacy and security and business transactions, giving her unique insights in providing risk-based strategic advice and counseling to assist her clients with meeting the challenges of today's rapidly evolving health care marketplace.
Outside of her practice, Jessica serves as a volunteer attorney for Children's Law Center of Minnesota, representing youth in foster care. In addition, she is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, providing support and guidance and help with navigating the system, and is a champion of attorney well-being.
Experience
Served as assistant general counsel for the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, providing advice and counsel on various matters, including the licensing and accreditation of facilities and services for 17 addiction and mental health treatment centers across the United States.
Served as senior associate general counsel for UCare, providing advice and counsel on a variety of business and regulatory matters, including Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid managed care plans and products sold in the commercial individual health insurance market.
Served as associate general counsel to UnitedHealthcare, providing advice and counsel regarding all aspects of the payer-provider relationship.
