Kalissa employs her experience overseeing public-private initiatives to assist clients in navigating tax credit and incentive program transactions.
Overview
Kalissa works with clients on the creative structuring of tax credit and government incentive transactions, drafting of legal documentation, preparing and rendering tax and corporate legal opinions, and assisting in compliance and asset-management issues. She is able to assist on new market tax credits (NMTC), historic rehabilitation (HTC), and renewable energy incentive tax credits (ITC) and numerous other state and federal tax incentive programs.
Prior to joining Stinson, Kalissa worked in government roles involving public and private partnerships. Most recently, she served as a deputy county attorney with the Sarpy County Attorney's Office, where she had the dual responsibilities of litigating mental health cases and collaborating with health care providers and law enforcement agencies to oversee county-wide initiatives.

Experience
Represented a NMTC investor on a $23 million transaction involving private, public, and nonprofit partners coordinating the rehabilitation, development and operation of a historic convention center on the west coast.
Represented an investor in the financing of a $61 million ground lease/HTC transaction in connection with the rehabilitation and revitalization of an athletic facility and luxury apartments in the Midwest.
Represented a nonprofit healthcare entity with respect to the NMTC financing of a new clinic aimed at serving low-income individuals in Colorado.
Represented an ITC investor in a renewable energy (solar) transaction involving 12 project sites spanning the east and west coasts.
