Kevin assists clients in navigating disputes and legal issues related to commercial and real estate litigation, and creditors’ rights.
Overview
Kevin is a litigator with a focus on asset-based litigation, real estate litigation and general commercial litigation. He represents clients in a wide range of industries, including equipment leasing and financing, agriculture, real estate, telecommunications and financial services.
Kevin manages lawsuits from the beginning pleadings stages through trial and appeal. He also handles a variety of complex contract disputes for small companies and Fortune 500 companies. In all his matters, Kevin is known for his strategic thinking, attention to detail, and dedication to his clients' goals. He is committed to achieving the best possible results for his clients in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
His extensive experience in equipment leasing and secured lending enables him to effectively advise clients on enforcing their loan and lease documents. Kevin also has experience recovering equipment and collateral nationwide and has successfully pursued judgments and collected for lenders and lessors through various means, including garnishments and fraudulent transfer actions, and regularly negotiates workout and forbearance agreements.
Additionally, clients rely on Kevin to defend them against consumer protection claims, including those under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
Kevin also has substantial experience in real estate litigation, particularly in Minnesota landlord/tenant law. He assists commercial landlords and tenants in eviction actions and other lease disputes, and represents lenders in foreclosure actions, guiding them through the process.
Kevin shares the firm’s commitment to giving back to the community by providing pro bono legal services. He advocates for residential tenants in the courtroom through the firm’s Eviction Representation Project and continues to help clients with expungement motions, negotiating settlements and avoiding evictions.

Equipment Leasing and Secured Financing
Restructured $40 million in secured loans involving collateral across the United States.
Obtained an order for a lender to recover $4.7 million of coal-mining equipment from a borrower in default.
Real Estate Litigation
Secured a dismissal of an eminent domain claim asserting $19 million in damages.
Received $13 million judgment for foreclosure on commercial property development in North Dakota.
Consumer Protection Litigation
Obtained a dismissal of a putative class action asserting FCRA, FDCPA, and TCPA claims against a mortgage lender.
