Overview
Clients have trusted Kim with a range of corporate matters, including domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, IPOs and commercial transactions, for more than three decades. Some of these companies he has represented from the founder's pre-formation ideas to highly successful IPOs and other exits.
Kim has also represented large established domestic and international clients in industry-changing joint ventures, acquisitions and privatizations. He has been lead attorney in over a half dozen multibillion dollar mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and securities offerings with a total value in excess of $50 billion.
Kim has gained skills required to meet clients' needs through his experience as general counsel of Ciena Corporation, Corvis Corporation and Broadwing Corporation. Having served as head of corporate development at Corvis and Broadwing, as well as serving as co-CEO, his business experience sharpens his legal advice. Kim also served as head of the German office of a large international law firm.

Experience
Represented Deutsche Telekom in its joint venture with France Telecom and their joint purchase of a 20% interest in Sprint and the formation of a global joint venture.
Represented T-Mobile and Deutsche Post in a number of acquisitions of mobile and postal properties.
Represented Kazakhstan in the partial privatization of Kazakhtelecom.
Represented Corvis Corporation in its IPO at a first-day market cap of $28 billion.
Represented Corvis and Broadwing in acquisitions for in excess of $1.5 billion.
Represented Broadwing in its sale to Level 3 for in excess of $1.6 billion.
Serve as general counsel to telecoms equipment and software companies and has been involved in multimillion dollar licensing arrangements and bet-the-company IP litigation.
Represent clients in FinTech and artificial intelligence licensing transactions, software as a service and other service contracts.
