Clients describe Kurt as an active listener with a results-oriented mindset. He is a seasoned transactional real estate and land use attorney with experience in the private and public sectors, focused on delivering timely, practical and cost-effective advice.
His clients include buyers and sellers of commercial real estate, commercial and residential developers, landlords and tenants, commercial and residential lenders, and residential and commercial brokerage companies. Kurt regularly handles a wide variety of transactional matters, including the purchase and sale of commercial, office, industrial, mixed-use and residential real estate, and is highly skilled in handling land use matters and navigating complex governmental and municipal permitting issues. Kurt also has significant experience representing clients in leasing transactions and the financing of real estate, including acquisition, construction and permanent financing.
He is a former senior operations executive in the real estate brokerage industry, giving him a unique understanding of ethics, licensing, compliance, franchising, operational matters and dispute resolution.
Kurt is active in community affairs within the Tampa Bay region, and is a past advisory board member of Best Buddies Tampa Bay.

Served as counsel to an energy company in the refinancing of its commercial real estate portfolio.
Served as counsel to an investor in the acquisition of commercial buildings subject to triple net leases.
Served as counsel to an investor in the acquisition of Section 8 apartment communities.
Led a groundbreaking legal effort to successfully foreclose on an abandoned coal mine due to environmental obligations and redevelop the land for large-scale commercial agriculture purposes.
Served as counsel to a restaurateur in the acquisition of a retail strip center.
Served as general counsel to one of Tampa Bay's leading residential real estate brokerage companies and its mortgage and title affiliates.
Served as counsel to a group of physicians in the acquisition and financing of the real property and other assets of oral surgery practices.
Served as Assistant Regional Counsel for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in the National Capital Region; provided counsel to the Public Buildings Service of GSA and to external agency clients, including the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
