Mark’s breadth of knowledge in employee benefits and executive compensation allows him to assist clients with a wide variety of legal issues.
Overview
Mark assists private and public companies on an array of employee benefits and executive compensation matters. He works with his clients on all aspects of employee benefits plans, including deferred compensation, equity, retirement, and health and welfare plans.
Mark assists clients with a broad range of compliance matters under ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, the Internal Revenue Code and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. He also helps clients with the design and implementation of tax-qualified retirement plans, equity compensation plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, and welfare plans. His experience also includes representing clients with matters before the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Department of Labor and other governmental agencies.
While studying law, Mark served as a site coordinator for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program where he prepared income tax returns for underprivileged individuals and families. In college, Mark was president of the University of Kansas Debate Team, where he finished in the sweet sixteen at the National Debate Tournament his senior year.
