Overview
Shelby focuses her work on bankruptcy proceedings and litigation, including assisting in the representation of small business debtors, chapter 7 trustees, and various creditors. She also helps represent unsecured creditor committees in mass tort bankruptcies.
Before joining Stinson, Shelby clerked for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Columbia, where she prepared court orders, analyzed legal documents for weekly dockets and drafted legal memorandums and opinions. She gained valuable insights into various bankruptcy issues during her term.
Shelby has also diversified her experience with pro bono matters, including drafting amicus briefs and representation in small claims matters. She also supported litigation in contested divorce trials and discovery requirements during a summer clerkship with the University of Alabama Law Clinics.
