Bill represents clients in some of the country’s most significant antitrust class action cases and other business litigation matters.

Overview

Bill currently represents companies in national antitrust class actions and has a wealth of experience in class action cases involving financial services companies. He also represents clients in federal and state antitrust and consumer protection investigations.

Prior to joining the firm, Bill served in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York, where he tried jury cases involving felony charges of investment fraud. 

Experience

Represents a defendant in a collection of class action and individual lawsuits in the Northern District of Illinois and in multiple state attorney general lawsuits alleging that chicken producers conspired to reduce the supply of chicken in an effort to drive up prices

Represents a defendant in a collection of class action antitrust lawsuits in the District of Minnesota alleging that pork producers conspired to reduce the supply of pork in an effort to drive up prices

Represented a trade association in obtaining the dismissal of an antitrust case alleging a conspiracy among restaurants and others to eliminate certain types of promotional discounts in the sale of alcoholic beverages

Represented a cable television service provider in FTC investigation related to potential allegations of anticompetitive conduct; the investigation was closed without action taken

Represented a food company in a Justice Department investigation regarding possible collusion among competitors; the investigation was closed without action taken
