Zimei focuses on energy transactional practice, including renewable energy transactions, project finance and energy commodities. He also brings in-house compliance experience with a major international petroleum producer and distributor.
Zimei has experience on both conventional and renewable energy transactions. He has represented investors, borrowers and electric cooperatives on wind, solar and natural gas power plant projects of all scales.
Fluent in Mandarin, Zimei is able to meet the needs of clients worldwide, and has experience in representing Chinese companies in the energy sector.
Experience
Represented a major financial institution on multiple tax equity transactions, covering 24 utility-scale and community solar projects in the Northeast of the US, with a total investor commitment of approximately $180 million.
Represented a borrower in a $58 million community solar financing with a major bank.
Represented an electric cooperative in the asset and tenancy-in-common interest purchase of a 900MW+ coal-fired power plant in Texas.
Participated in the representation of the asset sales of two natural gas power plants (180MW combined nameplate capacities) in Texas.
Advised a major U.S. Agricultural company on various state and federal regulations on carbon sequestration and underground storage projects.
Advised a Chinese solar inverter manufacturer on its expansion in the U.S.
