Accessing Medicaid Provider Relief Funding — Strategies and Best Practices

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has allocated $15 Billion of its Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provider relief fund for Medicaid providers.  Now through July 20th, Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) providers who have not yet received other HHS CARES Act provider relief funds have the opportunity to apply for a distribution equal to at least 2-percent of their reported gross revenue from patient care. Learn more about this funding in this Vorys Health Care Alert.

On June 17, 2020 Liam Gruzs, Suzanne Scrutton and Mairi Mull presented a 30-minute webinar on this funding. The presenters discussed:

  • The steps providers must take to apply;
  • HHS guidance regarding appropriate use of the funds; and
  • Crucial considerations for managing your risk in the event of an audit.
