Expectations of Privacy & Ethical Issues in Using Email Communications at the 2021 Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference (OTEC)
Allen Rutz, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office, and Gretchen Rutz, an associate in the Vorys Columbus office, spoke at the 2021 Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference (OTEC) regarding expectations of privacy and ethical issues in using email communications. The question of whether an email can truly be considered private has evolved, with Courts now looking to a variety of factors to determine if the sender had a reasonable expectation of privacy. This session examined those factors in the context of the Engineer's ethical duties to the client and the public.
