Partners John Furniss and Beth Weinewuth hosted a webinar on January 31, 2019, titled Top 10 Ohio Estate, Trust, and Probate Law Changes Coming in 2019.

In December 2018, the Ohio General Assembly enacted HB 595 and SB 263, which contained over 10 important changes to Ohio laws concerning estate and trust planning, administration and litigation. These changes go into effect in March 2019. The webinar covered these changes which include changes to:

• Protection of the attorney-client privilege of fiduciaries
• Pre-death validation of trusts
• Trust arbitration
• Access to decedents medical records without opening an estate
• Electronic wills
• Electronic notaries
