Overview
Jud is an associate in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the labor and employment group. He represents management in a broad range of employment law matters in both state and federal courts across the country. Jud also has experience defending employers before administrative agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.
Notable experience includes:
- Obtaining summary judgment for an employer in Ohio state court to dismiss a single-plaintiff age discrimination lawsuit
- Obtaining judgment on the pleadings for an employer in Ohio federal court to dismiss a single-plaintiff age discrimination lawsuit
- Successfully defending appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit regarding an Ohio federal court’s order granting the employer’s motion for summary judgment to dismiss a single-plaintiff age discrimination lawsuit
- Successfully defending appeal before the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals regarding an Ohio state court’s order granting the employer’s motion for summary judgment to dismiss a single-plaintiff lawsuit alleging claims for race discrimination, disability discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination in violation of public policy, unlawful aiding and abetting of discrimination, and defamation.
Jud has presented on topics related to labor and employment matters including discrimination laws.
Jud received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from Wake Forest University.
