Hamed Moradi

Hamed is an associate in the Vorys Houston office and a member of the labor and employment group.  He has represented employers and clients against claims of trade secret and noncompete violations, contractual disputes, and lawsuits involving claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful termination in both state and federal courts.  He also has experience defending clients against claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act.  Hamed has defended several national and international companies in collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Representative matters include:

• Assisted in defeating certification of collective action of potentially 500 class members in a suit seeking overtime compensation
• Represented corporations in various industries, including energy and transportation, in multi-million-dollar theft of trade secrets cases
• Obtained summary judgment dismissing all claims in a gender discrimination case
• Obtained bill of review vacating a default judgment two years after its rendition

Hamed received his J.D. and LL.M. from the University of Georgia School of Law and completed a judicial clerkship with the 157^th Judicial District Court of Harris County.  He received his master of laws in international commercial law from Shahid Beheshti University and his bachelor of laws from Qazvin International University.
