Diversity is a core value at Vorys.  We understand that the diversity of our lawyers is a source of strength both at Vorys and in our communities.  We seek to hire law students who reflect the rich diversity of our communities, who prioritize learning of different cultures, and who bring diverse experiences to the service of our clients.  To build on this strength, the Vorys Diversity & Inclusion Committee has developed a fellowship program for highly motivated first-year law students who are members of a historically underrepresented racial or ethnic minority group, have a disability, and/or are members of the LGBTQ community. 

Recipients of the Vorys 1L Diversity Fellowship are members of the firm’s 10-week Summer Associate Program.  This program includes numerous training sessions, associate and partner mentorship programs, real-world work experience on active matters, and frequent networking and social events.  1L Diversity Fellows also have the opportunity to spend time on-site working in the legal department of our client Abercrombie & Fitch.  This unique partnership provides each Vorys fellow with a fantastic learning experience, enriching growth opportunity, and a great appreciation for the practice of law both at a large law firm and with an international corporation.

The selection process for the fellowship program is highly competitive, and a successful candidate will possess strong academic credentials, excellent verbal and written communication skills, leadership abilities, and a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in your community and school.
