Airey, Gormly, Keller and Russell Included on American City Business Journals' 2014-2015 “Who’s Who in Energy” List
Vorys Partners Jon Airey, Kevin Gormly, John Keller and Greg Russell were included in the 2014-2015 “Who’s Who in Energy” list, published by seven American City Business Journal publications, including Columbus Business First and the Pittsburgh Business Times. According to American City Business Journals, the lawyers are among the “key players” in the energy industry.
Airey, a partner in the Columbus office, has an oil and gas practice that is broad in scope. He serves as general counsel to the Ohio Oil and Gas Association. With nearly 40 years of experience, Airey has defended several oil and gas producers in royalty litigation and represented producers in obtaining full compensation for rejection of purchase contracts by pipeline companies. In addition, he has filed the majority of the unitization applications for horizontal well development.
Gormly, a partner in the Pittsburgh office, has significant experience in complex federal and state court oil and gas litigation. He routinely handles litigation on behalf of operators involving joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, drilling contracts and joint venture agreements, as well as lease issues and title disputes.
For 40 years, Keller, a partner in the Columbus office, has represented the oil and gas industry on business, leasing, real estate, contract, litigation and regulatory issues; and counseled lenders and borrowers in hundreds of millions in loans. He successfully litigated cases involving all types of oil and gas issues, including an arbitration award over $100M against a Fortune 100 company.
Russell, also a partner in the Columbus office, leads the firm’s energy group, which is one of the largest and most experienced energy and environmental practices in the Midwest. For 20 years, has advised clients on business and litigation matters involving the exploration, production, transportation and marketing of oil and natural gas, appearing before federal and state regulatory agencies such the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, U.S. EPA, and state oil and gas and public utility commissions. Russell is also the editor of the Vorys energy blog.
