Crookes Quoted in Akron Legal News Article on Caregiver Policies

Thomas R. Crookes, a partner in the firm’s Akron office, was quoted throughout an Akron Legal News story regarding employment policies that ensure workers with caregiving responsibilities are treated equally.   

The article states: “Tom Crookes, a partner in the employment law practice of the Akron office of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, said consistency is the key to avoiding problems.  ‘The bulk of these cases are gender-based with the plaintiff alleging she is being treated differently than a male counterpart,’ said Crookes, who represents employers.  ‘For example, a female employee should not be criticized for skipping a late or early meeting if the same treatment is not given to the male employee if he does the same.’”
