Gartland Named Energy & Mineral Law Foundation President at 42nd Annual Institute
Vorys is pleased to announce that Sheila Nolan Gartland, a partner in the Columbus office, was recently named president of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation (EMLF). Gartland officially accepted the role during EMLF’s 42nd Annual Institute, held from June 20-22, 2021 in Memphis, TN. She emphasized a commitment to inclusion in her acceptance remarks, stating that she would like to showcase EMLF’s diversity “as a place for all to belong, to grow, to develop, to lead, and to succeed.”
In addition to Gartland, several other Vorys attorneys also participated in this year’s Annual Institute. Lauren Fromme, an attorney in the Vorys Columbus office, gave a presentation on the topic of Tax-Free Exchanges of Mineral Properties.
The EMLF is a national nonprofit educational organization that fosters the study of natural resource development and energy use laws and regulations. The EMLF also provides opportunities for professional development and career networking among lawyers, law students, and other professionals practicing within the field.
