Russell featured in Daily Reporter story on Legal Issues Related to Oil and Gas Drilling
Gregory D. Russell, a partner in the firm’s Columbus office, was quoted extensively in a Daily Reporter story regarding the legal issues associated with drilling for oil and natural gas in the Utica and Marcellus shales.
The article, which was entitled “Ohio attorneys gushing over natural gas boom,” states: “Vorys has lined up a team of about 15 to 20 lawyers dedicated to working on shale-related legal work. They also occasionally pull in lawyers from other departments, perhaps tax lawyers, for example, to assist. 'I think we’re just at the beginning of this. We’re hitting what I call ‘land issues’ now. Who has the right to go on the land and drill? Then once the drilling starts there’s a whole other set of issues: environmental, regulations,' said Russell."
