Schaefer Quoted in Cincinnati Business Courier Story on Corporate Review Policies
Kimberly Schaefer, a partner in the firm’s Cincinnati office, was quoted in a Business Courier story that highlighted the importance of reviewing all contracts and documents before signing. According to the story, a Cincinnati company renewed its insurance coverage and did not know there was a mold exclusion added to its policy. The company is now suing its insurance agency because it was denied coverage because of the exclusion.
The story states:
“Kim Schaefer, a lawyer at Vorys Sater Seymour & Pease, said businesses often don’t realize what their insurance covers – or doesn’t – because no one bothers reading lengthy contracts.
‘You don’t discover it until it hits the fan,’ Schaefer said. ‘It’s that one time that you wished you’d read it. When you need it, it’s too late.’”
