Tangeman Profiled in Columbus Business First

Jill Tangeman, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the finance, energy and real estate group, was profiled in the 2015 Best Lawyers section of Columbus Business First. Tangeman was selected because she was named the 2015 Best Lawyers Columbus Land Use and Zoning Law "Lawyer of the Year."  The profile highlighted Tangeman’s practice and her work with developers.

The article states:

“She says the most difficult developers with whom to work are those who remain stagnant in their practices and outlook, while the easiest are the ones always looking to tomorrow.

‘They've done things the same way over the years, and there's absolutely no creativity. Land use doesn't work that way!’

Public engagement on projects has been one of the biggest changes to the development scene in recent years, Tangeman says. She is often in the middle of many of those conversations and counsels her clients to keep their word.

‘I tell them that your word and reputation is everything. They are only going to be successful if they do what they say they are going to do,’ she says. ‘If you want to successfully develop land in Central Ohio, you have to demonstrate your willingness to work with the community and follow through with your commitments.’”
