Vorys Partner named Board of Directors President of Legal Aid Society of Columbus
Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is pleased to announce that Lisa Pierce Reisz, a partner in the Columbus office, has been named president of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of Columbus.
The Legal Aid Society of Columbus is a non-profit 501(c)(3) regional law firm that seeks to improve the lives of and empower low income residents and senior citizens of Columbus and the central Ohio service area by providing high quality legal representation to meet their civil legal needs. The agency was founded in 1954.
Reisz is a member of Vorys’ health care and litigation groups and has specific experience in state certification and licensing issues as well as credentialing and peer review matters. Her practice also includes business and commercial disputes, antitrust litigation, insurance coverage disputes, foreclosure litigation, employment discrimination litigation, employer intentional tort litigation and bankruptcy litigation. She is the firm’s pro bono coordinator and has performed hundreds of hours of pro bono legal work, as well as made a number of presentations on Ohio’s proposed adoption of mandatory reporting for pro bono work. She has served as a Guardian Ad Litem for CASA of Franklin County since 1996. Reisz also serves on the Columbus Bar Association’s Delivery of Legal Services Committee, Professional Ethics Committee, and CLE Advisory Council.
Reisz received her J.D. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Law and her B.A. cum laude from Harvard University.
