Vorys Professionals Receive Awards at the CMBA 2022 Annual Meeting

Jim McMonagle, of counsel in the Vorys Cleveland office, received the 2022 Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) William K. Thomas Professionalism Award on Thursday, June 16.  This award is given to a lawyer or judge who has significantly contributed to the enhancement of professionalism in the Greater Cleveland legal community by exemplifying the goals of the Ohio Supreme Court’s “A Lawyer’s Creed” and “A Lawyer’s Aspirational Ideals” and by furthering the ideals expressed in the mission of the CMBA.  To learn more about the professionalism award, click here.

McMonagle has been a practicing attorney for 52 years, serving as a judge of the Common Pleas Court of Cuyahoga County for 13 years and has been nominated for the United States District, among several other professional accomplishments.  At Vorys, he assists with the mediation and arbitration of complex cases throughout the United States, including tort business, securities and employment litigation as well as unwinding and restructuring businesses as a result of unexpected market changes.

Additionally, Mallory Monhemius, the firm’s talent development and inclusion manager, received the Committee Impact Award for the CMBA’s Mental Health and Wellness Committee.  She is the chair of the CMBA’s Mental Health and Wellness Committee and vice-chair of the Women in Law section.
