Vorys Welcomes New Associates
Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is pleased to welcome 10 new associates to four of the firm’s offices. Taryn M. Filo, Lauren N. Fromme, Joseph D. Saks and Laura C. Vaughn have joined the Columbus office; Nathan L. Colvin, T. Blake Finney, Joseph S. McVicker, Daniel C. Morgenstern and James M. Patrick have joined the Cincinnati office; Daniel Soleimani joined the Cleveland office; and Steven A. Chang joined the Akron office.
Columbus Office
Taryn M. Filo joined the firm’s labor and employment group. She received her J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif. She served as an associate member and the articles editor of the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Filo also served as judicial extern to the Honorable S. Arthur Spiegel in the U.S. District Court in Cincinnati, Ohio and was a Vorys summer associate in 2010. She received her B.S. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University.
Lauren N. Fromme joined the firm’s commercial and real estate group. She received her J.D. from the Vanderbilt University Law School, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Moot Court Managing Council. She also served as the articles editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. In addition, Fromme served as a judicial extern for the Honorable John S. Bryant, U.S. magistrate for the Middle District of Tennessee and was a Vorys summer associate in 2010. She received her B.A. magna cum laude from The Ohio State University, where she was Phi Beta Kappa.
Joseph D. Saks joined the firm’s litigation group. Mr. Saks received his J.D. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he a member of the Order of the Coif and moot court. He also served as a staff member and the managing editor of the Ohio State Law Journal. In addition, Saks served as an extern for the Honorable Algenon L. Marbley in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and was a Vorys summer associate in 2010. He received his B.A. cum laude from Dartmouth College.
Laura C. Vaughn joined the firm’s corporate and finance group. She received her J.D. from the Washington University School of Law, where she was a staff editor and associate editor of the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy. In addition, Vaughn worked for the Legal Advocates for Abused Women in St. Louis, Missouri and was a Vorys summer associate in 2010. She received her B.A. cum laude from Vanderbilt University.
Cincinnati Office
Nathan L. Colvin joined the firm’s litigation group. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, the Ohio State Law Journal and moot court. After completing law school, Colvin clerked for the Honorable David W. McKeague in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He has also served as a presidential appointee in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Office of General Counsel and was a Vorys summer associate in 2009. He received his B.A. cum laude from Miami University.
T. Blake Finney joined the firm’s litigation group. He received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was the contributing editor for the Michigan Journal of Race and Law. Finney was a Vorys summer associate in 2010. He received his B.A. cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.
Joseph S. McVicker joined the firm’s commercial and real estate group. He received his J.D. cum laude from the Boston University School of Law, where he was a member of the Review of Banking and Financial Law. McVicker is also licensed as a certified public account in Massachusetts. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati.
Daniel C. Morgenstern joined the firm’s litigation group. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a member of the moot court and the law mock trial team. Morgenstern served as a law clerk in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Michigan and was a Vorys summer associate in 2010. He received his B.S. with high honors from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
James M. Patrick joined the firm’s labor and employment group. He received his J.D. summa cum laude from the University Cincinnati College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. He also served as the executive editor of the University of Cincinnati Law Review. In addition, Patrick served as a judicial extern to the Honorable David L. Bunning in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky and was a Vorys summer associate in 2010. He received his B.A. with high distinction from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Akron Office
Steven A. Chang joined the firm’s litigation group. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he a member of the Order of the Coif and moot court. He also served as the senior editor for the Case Western Reserve Law Review. Chang was a Vorys summer associate in 2010. He received his B.A. cum laude from Texas Tech University.
