Vorys Welcomes New Associates to Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Akron and Washington, D.C. Offices
Vorys is pleased to welcome eight new associates to the firm. Angelyne Lisinski, Michael Shoenfelt, Kara Singleton and Thomas Vetter have joined the Columbus office; Katherine Barrett and Megan Westenberg have joined the Cincinnati office; Hyun (Eric) Yoon has joined the Cleveland office; Andrew Guran has joined the Akron office and William M.R. Barrett has joined the Washington, D.C. office.
Columbus
Angelyne Lisinski joined the litigation group. She received her J.D. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law, where she was the managing editor of the Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law. Prior to joining Vorys, Lisinski served as a law clerk for the Honorable Elizabeth Preston Deavers, Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University.
Michael Shoenfelt joined the labor and employment group. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law, where he was an articles editor for the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. Shoenfelt served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Amul R. Thapar in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky and as judicial extern for the Honorable Algenon L. Marbley in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He received his BA magna cum laude with honors from The Ohio State University.
Kara Singleton joined the litigation group. She received her J.D. magna cum laude from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law, where she was a managing editor of the Ohio State Law Journal. Singleton served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael H. Watson in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and as a judicial extern for the Honorable Kimberly Cocroft in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. She was also a Vorys summer associate in 2012. Singleton received her B.A. cum laude with honors and research distinction from The Ohio State University.
Thomas Vetter joined the finance, energy and real estate group. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. He also served as the symposium editor and as a staff editor for the Ohio State Law Journal. Vetter was a Vorys summer associate in 2012. In addition, he worked as an investment banking summer associate at Lancaster Pollard and completed a finance internship with Abbott Laboratories. Vetter received his B.S. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University.
Cincinnati
Katherine Barrett joined the finance, energy and real estate group. She received her J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif. She also served as a notes and comments editor of the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Barrett completed a fellowship with the Ohio Innocence Project and was a Vorys summer associate in 2012. She received her B.A. summa cum laude with honors from Xavier University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Megan Westenberg joined the litigation group. She received her J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif. She also served as a notes and comments editor of the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Westenberg served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael R. Barrett for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and was a Vorys summer associate in 2012. She received her B.A. with distinction from the University of Michigan.
Cleveland
Hyun (Eric) Yoon joined the litigation group. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the articles review committee for the Virginia Law and Business Review. He served as a Vorys summer associate in 2012. Prior to entering law school, Yoon spent a semester at St. Andrews University in Scotland and two years in the political science doctoral program at Michigan State University. He is fluent in Korean and received his B.A. cum laude from Colgate University.
Akron
Andrew Guran joined the litigation group. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. He also served as a senior editor for the Case Western Reserve Law Review and as the president and editor-in-chief of the law school’s newspaper, The Docket. Guran served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Eileen A. Gallagher in the Court of Appeals of Ohio Eighth Appellate District and the Honorable David D. Dowd, Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from George Washington University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Washington, D.C.
William M.R. Barrett joined the litigation group. He also works with the international trade subgroup. Barrett received his J.D. with honors from the George Washington University Law School, where he was a Thurgood Marshall Scholar. He served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Richard J. Leon for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and as legal extern for the U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division, Fraud Section. Barrett received his B.A. summa cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago. He also studied at Peking University and speaks Mandarin Chinese.
