Vorys Welcomes New Associates to Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland Offices
Vorys is pleased to welcome seven new associates to the firm. Richard J. Balazs, Melissa James Jackson, and Carmen E. Brown have joined the Columbus office; Angela M. Neyer, Ann M. Seller and John B. Wasserman have joined the Cincinnati office; and Kyle S. Baird has joined the Cleveland office.
Columbus
Richard J. Balazs joined the firm’s tax and probate group. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was on the editorial boards of the Virginia Law & Business Review and the Virginia Sports & Entertainment Law Journal. Balazs is a Certified Public Accountant and was a Vorys summer associate in 2011. He received his Master of Accounting from The Ohio State University and his B.S., summa cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University.
Carmen E. Brown joined the firm’s litigation group. She received her J.D. from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law, where she was a member of the Entrepreneurial Business Law Journal and Moot Court. Brown is a Certified Public Accountant and was an auditor at Deloitte and Touche LLP. In addition, she was a Vorys summer associate in 2011. Brown received her B.S. from Miami University.
Melissa James Jackson joined the firm’s health care group. She received her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. Jackson has spent nearly ten years in health care policy, most recently in federal regulatory policy related to Medicaid and implementation of the Affordable Care Act at the national Children’s Hospital Association. She was also a Vorys summer associate in 2011. Jackson received her MPA and her B.A. from The Ohio State University.
Cincinnati
Angela M. Neyer joined the firm’s litigation group. She received her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she was articles editor for the University of Cincinnati Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. Neyer served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Sandra S. Beckwith and was a Vorys summer associate in 2011. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Xavier University.
Ann M. Seller joined the firm’s tax and probate group. She received her J.D from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology. Seller served as an extern for the Honorable S. Arthur Spiegel in the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and was a Vorys summer associate in 2011. She received her MSc in global politics from the London School of Economics and her B.A., summa cum laude, from DePauw University, where she was Phi Beta Kappa.
John B. Wasserman joined the firm’s commercial and real estate group. He received his J.D, with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was the comment editor of the University of Chicago Legal Forum. Wasserman served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael H. Watson in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and was a Vorys summer associate in 2011. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, with honors, from The Ohio State University.
Cleveland
Kyle S. Baird joined the firm’s litigation group. He received his J.D, from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was on the editorial board of the Journal of Law and Politics. He served as a research fellow for the Brigham Young University Political Science Department and was a Vorys summer associate in 2011. Baird received his B.A. from Brigham Young University.
