Wilson quoted in Competition Law360 article "Varney Signals Tough Stance on Monopoly Rules"
James Wilson, a partner in the firm’s Columbus office, was quoted in the article "Varney Signals Tough Stance on Monopoly Rules," which appeared in the May 11, 2009 edition of Competition Law360.
The article states: “The announcement seems to push the DOJ closer to the enforcement stance adopted under the Clinton administration, some analysts suggested, a position that sparked government cases against technology giants like Microsoft Corp. and Intel Corp. Still, the DOJ will now have to contend with a relatively conservative judiciary, which in recent years has not been particularly friendly to Section 2 cases, Wilson noted. ‘The courts have moved on since the Clinton administration. It is going to be harder to overcome precedent established in the last eight years when the department does want to bring a Section 2 case,’ Wilson said.”
