Shaw Receives 2023 Cincinnati Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Leadership Award
Jabari Shaw, an associate in the Vorys Cincinnati office, was awarded the 2023 YLS Leadership Award from the Cincinnati Bar Association (CBA). The award honors influential leadership and is given to individuals who are prominent and respectable advocates for the legal community in the Cincinnati region.
Shaw focuses his practice on intellectual property protection, primarily in the areas of trademark and copyright law. He has experience counseling clients on trademark and copyright licensing, trademark filing and enforcement strategies, as well as domain dispute resolution proceedings. Additionally, Shaw has experience counseling athletes and entertainers and helping them structure and utilize sponsorship deals, licensing contracts, marketing campaigns and other promotional activities to help with the commercial growth of their individual brands and personas. His notable experience in this area includes working with collegiate and professional athletes, musicians and influencers to maximize the use of their name, image and likeness.
Shaw has been involved in the CBA’s Young Lawyer’s Section (YLS) for several years and was selected to serve as chair in 2022. As chair, he works with the other members of the YLS leadership team to carry on activities which will be of assistance to young lawyers, to educate and inform the legal community and to provide community service opportunities for CBA members under the age of 36 or who have practiced for less than five years.
