Weis Quoted in Law360 Article Titled “Farmers' Ohio Deal Is Latest Amid Banking M&A Surge”
Tony Weis, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the firm’s corporate group, was quoted in a Law360 article regarding the recent announced merger between Farmers National Banc Corp. (Farmers) and Middlefield Banc Corp.
Vorys is representing Farmers in that transaction, which served as an anecdote for the feature’s larger coverage of mergers and acquisitions in the banking industry. There were more than 52 deals announced during the third quarter of 2025.
Weis, who did not advise Farmers as part of that deal but is a member of the Vorys’ financial institutions practice, told Law360 that increases in stock prices have driven larger deals during the past quarter. He noted that he has been involved in four banking industry merger and acquisition deals during the past year, an uptick from 2024.
