Health Informatics - Second Edition

Vorys attorneys Jonathan Ishee, Shannon Majoras and Robin Canowitz co-authored a chapter for the second edition of Health Informatics. Their chapter was titled "Legal Issues, Federal Regulations and Accreditation." The chapter covers topics such as the U.S. governmental processes and structure for regulating health information technology,  the intersection of federal fraud and abuse regulations as they relate to electronic health records and health IT, the impact of informatics-related regulations on payment reform, and accreditation measures and agencies in the United States.

This edition includes information systems and applications such as electronic health records, clinical decision support, telehealth, ePatients, and social media tools, as well as system implementation. New to this edition are topics including data science and analytics, mHealth, principles of project management, and contract negotiations.
