Jackie Ford, a partner in the Vorys Houston office and a member of the labor and employment group, authored an article for the Houston Business Journal about the employee related issues companies face after natural disasters. 

The article states:

“However, human resources departments and their counsel face a tricky maze of interwoven legal, logistical and humanitarian issues. This is particularly true when a business re-opens but employees, for myriad reasons, cannot work.

The best approach to this disconnect is determined by the company’s culture and by the specific reasons particular employees are absent.”
