Overview

Eli is an associate in the Vorys Columbus office and is part of the firm’s national economic development incentives practice, which is one of the largest law firm-based incentives practices in the country.  His practice focuses on economic development incentives, public-private partnerships, special economic development entities and state and local taxation.  He also counsels clients on public records and open meetings law matters and has experience drafting local and state-level legislation.

Eli works with a diverse range of clients, including data center site developers and end-users, housing developers, manufacturing companies, government entities and nonprofit organizations.

Career Highlights Include:

  • Working on data center matters in more than 20 states across the country.
  • Securing tax incentives for a historic redevelopment project in eastern Ohio.
  • Drafting local tax incentive legislation to promote housing development in a northern Ohio municipality.

Eli received his J.D. magna cum laude from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he was the articles editor for the Ohio State Business Law Journal.  Prior to law school he worked at the Ohio House of Representatives, first as an Ohio Legislative Service Commission fellow and then as a legislative aide.  Eli received his B.A. cum laude in economics and Spanish literature from Kenyon College.
