Overview

Jake is an associate in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the finance, energy and real estate group.  He has experience in civil engineering and land surveying.  Jake practices in general real estate development, zoning, real estate acquisition and sales, leasing, liens and real estate-based commercial lending. 

Jake also practices in construction focusing on transactional "front-end" representation for both public and private entities.  In addition, Jake has represented private landowners in negotiating agreements and easements related to carbon capture and sequestration.  Prior to becoming a licensed attorney, Jake worked as both a civil engineer and a land surveyor, gaining experience in the design and construction of municipal engineering projects as well as the data collection, processing and preparation of zoning, boundary, ALTA, annexation and topographic survey exhibits.

Jake is a dual-licensed professional engineer and professional land surveyor in the State of Ohio.

Jake received his J.D. cum laude from Capital University Law School and his MBA with highest distinction from Capital University.  He also received his B.S. cum laude in civil engineering with a minor in surveying and mapping from The Ohio State University.
