Overview
Kristin is a partner in the Vorys Cincinnati office and a member of the finance, energy and real estate practice group. Her practice focuses on real estate financing transactions and general real estate matters.
Kristin represents clients from all perspectives of the acquisition, financing, ownership, development and sale of office buildings, apartment projects, industrial facilities, senior living communities and other commercial properties. She represents both lenders and borrowers in financing transactions and workouts, purchasers and sellers in real estate transfers, and landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions. Her experience also includes counseling developers and investors in structuring the entities that own real estate assets.
In addition to conventional financing, Kristin has specific experience representing Delegated Underwriting and Servicing (DUS) lenders and borrowers in Fannie Mae multifamily financing transactions. Kristin also represents bridge lenders and developers on Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transactions.
Career highlights include:
- Representing the owners of more than a dozen office, research and development and biotech properties located in the greater metropolitan area of a major East Coast city in connection with a tax-deferred roll-up and refinancing transaction, including the establishment of a credit facility of in excess of $500 million to finance existing properties and future acquisitions
- Representing buyers and sellers of apartment properties in Texas in transactions involving more than 5,000 units
- Representing the buyer in the acquisition of the business assets of a regional multifamily property management firm
- Representing an academic institution in a USDA loan transaction in connection with the construction and renovation of a 50,000 square-foot science facility
- Frequently representing owners of commercial properties in structuring and negotiating joint venture agreements and sponsoring equity investments by third parties
- Frequently representing borrowers and lenders in connection with Fannie Mae loan transactions involving market rate apartment properties, seniors housing and multifamily affordable housing
Kristin is a member of the American Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association.
Kristin received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif and was editor in chief of the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Kristin received her B.S. in journalism from Ohio University as a graduate of the Honors Tutorial College.
Kristin served as a judicial clerk to The Honorable Roger L. Gregory of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
