$300,000 Jury Verdict Obtained in Philadelphia City Hall
In January 2015, Brian Tetro secured a $300,000 unanimous jury verdict as lead trial counsel for our client in a two-day space heater subrogation case in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Our client insured the landlord and property owner. Our client alleged that one of the insured’s tenants, a cell phone store, negligently misused a space heater – the case was based only on circumstantial evidence, since the heater was almost completely destroyed from the fire, and the defense denied using the heater. Testimony from the defense fact witnesses, however, was shown to be inconsistent or incredible. The defendant’s highest offer was $5,000. The parties stipulated that our client’s damages were $300,000, the amount of the total recovery.
